MATCH PREVIEW | Rhinos Reserves open Saturday's double header at AMT Headingley

Now entering the second half of their season, Leeds Rhinos Reserves clash with Warrington Wolves in a top of the table clash at AMT Headingley this Saturday before the first team game, kick off 3pm.

2025 has been a strong year so far on the youth front for the Rhinos as both Men's and Women's Academies, Mark Butterill's Scholarship and the Reserves team have been amongst the top-performing teams in the country. The Reserves in particular have won five out of six games to amass ten league points, and they have conceded the least amount of points out of any team in the Reserves league by the halfway stage.

Last time out against Wigan was their best performance of the season as Ethan Clark-Wood, Harley Thomas, Joe Diskin and Presley Cassell all scored twice as part of a high-scoring 60-26 result at Robin Park, and now Chev Walker's side get the chance to build a run of form as they take on Warrington and Wakefield in back to back games over the next week. Hull KR will be another tough test as the season moves into July, before Salford, Bradford and Castleford close out the regular season for the Rhinos.

Warrington have been keeping up with Leeds all season long as they have also impressed with five wins in six games, but now Ryan O'Brien's side find themselves in a close battle with Wigan and Hull FC who are also fighting for a Grand Final spot in September.

Like Leeds, Warrington have utilised the Reserves competition to continue the development of their Under-18s Academy players, who are also performing strongly. Up until their most recent game against Hull KR, the Wolves were unbeaten in five consecutive games as they put Wakefield and Leigh to the sword, before closely beating Bradford and Hull FC. A more routine win over St Helens saw the Wolves record 48 points at the end of April, before two late tries from Lewis Wing helped Hull KR to a comeback win at the Halliwell Jones.
